How rankings work

Chicken Rice Lover ranks stalls by signed-in community reviews using a Wilson score—the same statistical approach sites like Reddit use to sort comments by confidence, not just raw upvotes.

When you open a city page, we fetch chicken rice restaurants from Google Places and cache names, addresses, and map links. Google ratings are shown for context but never used for our order.

Signed-in members rate stalls from 1 to 5 and write a short review. One review per person per stall; you can edit it later. Reviews are public and appear on stall pages.

Each review contributes a normalised rating. We apply a Wilson score lower bound (95% confidence, z = 1.96) so stalls with more reviews and steadier ratings outrank places with a single lucky five-star score.

City pages list stalls by Wilson score descending. If two stalls tie, we break ties by review count, then Google rating. Trending on the homepage highlights stalls getting the most new reviews in the last two weeks.

Google Maps ratings are shown for reference but never used to sort our lists. We do not accept paid placement. One review per signed-in member per stall keeps rankings honest.
